Alps are one of the longest mountain ranges in the world. It has the most beautiful view and many motorcyclists prefer the Alps for motorcycle rides. These passes are famous because most roads were paved in the 1820s and 1850s. This attracted most of the tourists all around the world to Switzerland followed by the Alps mountain range.

Alps Motorcycle Tour Itinerary

I’m starting my motorcycle tour from Germany. I’m flying to Stuttgart, Germany.

We went to Road Trip with Beast Riderz. Beast Riderz is a riding club based in Chennai. They organise motorcycle roadtrips 3 month once and breakfast rides monthly once. We went as a group of 20 people. Since, its a hot summer time we planned not go in motorcycle. Most of them came in car.

Myself and 2 other alone planned to go in bike. I was riding BMW R18 which is a 2 cylinder 1800 CC motorycycle. Its a cruiser bike.

Ride summary:

2. Location: Chennai
3. Destination: CS Grand – Kariyamangalam.
4. Distance – 600 kms
5. Budget – 5000 Rs

I started the ride from Chennai on 06th of August early morning – 5:00 AM. My plan is to reach the destination before 10:00 to avoid the hot summer. 3 bikes started the ride by 5:30 AM from Nazarathpet

Bike

1. Bmw R18
2. Dominar 400
3. Duke 200

We reached Ranipet by 6:30 AM which is 80 kms from Nazarathpet. It is the worst part in the entire trip. Road was in under construction and there is too many diversions. We took a coffee break and started from that point by 6:45 AM to the break fast location.

At the Ranipet toll gate, i met one of my old friend – Jaya. She is into the loan department and providing car loan from various public and private banks. Later, we took few photographs with them.

Next stopping point is Vaniyambadi – Veg hotel for morning breakfast which is 100 kms from that toll gate. We managed to reach the hotel by 7:30 AM. We finished the breakfast in 30 mins. We were well ahead of our schedule. So we decided to go to Yelagiri – a small hill station. Yelagiri is 35 kms from the hotel. We started to Yelagiri by 08:00 AM.

Yelagiri

We reached Yelagiri by 8:30 AM. It was amazing route. Highway ended few kms after the hotel and started going through a state highway. That route was very curvy and we really enjoyed a lot. We were cruising at 100 kms/hr in the highway. After reaching country roads, we started going at 60 km/hr. The view around us was really amazing. We could able to enjoy the climate until 9:00 AM. Yelagiri hills has 14 hair pin bend and it was so fun to ride.

CS Grand

After visiting Yelagiri, we took some photos and left by 9:30 AM. From Yelagiri, we have to travel another 30 kms to reach the hotel. We explored few other places and reached CS Grand by 11:00 AM. Sun started grilling us. But, resort has many trees which gave us warm welcome. It is completely green, many flowers and trees.

Swimming Pool

As soon as we settled, our team jumped into the swimming pool and spent few hours there. By 7:00 PM dinner was ready, i planned to eat early and sleep. After dinner , we took few photos. I am adding them below.

Return to Chennai

next day morning, after finishing break, team one started from CS Grand by 11:00 AM. Climate was extremely hit but we had mo other option. We decided not to take any random breaks. Our first stop is at Ambur Star biriyani for Lunch. We reached Ambur in 1 hour and started again towards Chennai. Our next stop is Ranipet Toll. We managed to reach the toll by 2:00 PM. Had a short break for juice and hydration. Temperature is around 39 degrees. I poured water over my riding jacket to keep me cool and again started by 2:30 PM. By 3:45 PM, we reached Poonamalle. Heat was terrible at that time, I couldn’t ride further. Had 1 litre water and a juice again and felt better. Final leg is just 30 mins away and i started by 4:00 PM and reached my house by 4:30 PM.
